The San Francisco Giants have a new $65 million player development center in Phoenix.
The team revealed the newly renovated 33-acre complex at Papago Park, which includes six full-sized fields and MLB’s first indoor half-sized field at a minor league training facility.
One of the site’s fields mimics the dimensions of the MLB team’s old home at Candlestick Park, and another replicates Oracle Park, their current venue.
While the team plays its spring training games in nearby Old Scottsdale, the training center will be used throughout the year.
The spot was initially used by the Oakland A’s, but has been mostly vacant since they left six years ago.
The Giants lease the land through a deal with Phoenix and Scottsdale.
