The Detroit Lions watch party at Ford Field for Sunday’s NFC Championship game sold out in a handful of hours.
Seats in the lower bowl went on sale on Monday to season-ticket holders at 10 a.m. and to the public at 3 p.m. All seats sold out within five hours of the general sale, and the team expects upwards of 20,000 fans to attend, according to The Detroit News. The official number of tickets sold has yet to be released.
Tickets were $20 for the public, but resale prices are more than double the initial cost.
The team will show the game on the stadium’s video boards and additional display screens on the field. The cheerleaders and drumline will perform, and a portion of the proceeds will go to the Detroit Lions Foundation for Youth & High School Sports.
Lions fans have packed Ford Field all season long, improving to the sixth-best team in the league for average capacity percentage, up from 17th last season. This year, Ford Field had its first-ever season ticket waiting list. Fans set a new decibel record for the stadium at each playoff game and faced the highest average ticket price for a divisional game in history.
The Lions travel to San Francisco to battle the 49ers on Sunday.
