Hours after a cryptic tweet by the Las Vegas Raiders stated team president Dan Ventrelle was “no longer with the Raiders organization,” Ventrelle alleged he was “fired in retaliation for raising” hostile workplace concerns.

Ventrelle alleged in a statement Friday evening that Raiders owner Mark Davis “created a hostile work environment and engaged in other potential misconduct.”

Ventrelle wrote that he raised those concerns with Davis and then the NFL.

“When Mark was confronted about these issues, he was dismissive and did not demonstrate the warranted level of concern. Given this, I informed the NFL of these issues and of Mark’s unacceptable response.

“I firmly stand by my decision to elevate these issues to protect the organization and its female employees.”

NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy said in a statement to Front Office Sports and other outlets that the league “recently became aware of these allegations and take them very seriously.”

“We will promptly look into the matter,” McCarthy added.

Ventrelle spent 18 years with the Raiders, much of that time as the team’s general counsel.

He was elevated to the role of president in July after former president Marc Badain exited along with CFO Ed Villanueva after long-running accounting issues were found.

Those issues, first reported by FOS, were related to overpaying taxes for several years.
