Brewers Unveil New City Connect Uniforms

  • Milwaukee will use the nickname “Brew Crew” on a uniform for the first time.
  • The set pays homage to the city’s beer and grilling traditions, as well as summer skies.

The Milwaukee Brewers are gearing up for summer with a new set of threads.

On Friday, the Brewers unveiled their City Connect uniforms, which feature the nickname “Brew Crew” across the chest for the first time in the team’s history.

The primary color of the jersey is light blue, an homage to summer skies and the team’s uniforms in years past. The white-and-yellow sleeve piping is meant to represent beer foam.

Perhaps most notably, there’s a patch of a grill on the jersey’s sleeve — a nod to Wisconsin’s tradition of grilling, as well as the tailgating outside American Family Field.

The set also features a unique lettermark that combines MKE (the city’s airport code) and 414 (the city’s area code).

The Brew Crew will wear the uniforms for most Friday home games and every Community Night game.

City Connect merchandise has been wildly popular and profitable: In April, the Astros had the largest launch event in team history with their Space City apparel.
