SiriusXM Parts Ways With Michelle Beadle, Cody Decker

Beadle and Decker are shown the door with three months still to go before Stephen A. Smith takes their time slot.

ESPN has not let NBA Countdown “marinate” as talent changes too frequently, ex-host Michelle Beadle tells FOS.

Michelle Beadle and Cody Decker are done at SiriusXM radio.

A spokesman for the satellite radio giant confirmed to Front Office Sports Sirius has “parted ways” with the co-hosts of Beadle & Decker on Mad Dog Sports Radio, effective Thursday night.

The duo taped their last show Thursday afternoon, one day after they learned they were losing their midday time slot to ESPN superstar Stephen A. Smith in September.

On Wednesday, the duo shared their frustration with listeners that management had not given them a proper heads-up about Smith’s arrival this fall.

Starting Friday, Mad Dog Sports Radio will employ a rotating cast of personalities and contributors to fill the 1-3 p.m. ET time slot until Smith’s new show premiers on Sep. 2.

During an exclusive interview with FOS on Thursday, Beadle predicted she would probably not last through the end of her  current contract through mid-August.

She said it was emblematic of the troubled situation facing sports media talents.

“I’m talking to friends who work for some of these big companies. They’re not covering travel expenses,” she told FOS. “It’s weird. Whatever jobs you do have, hold on to them, because it is a crazy time.”
