Judging by the extremely tight betting lines, the NFC Championship Game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Philadelphia Eagles is going to be an excellent football game.
The primary allotment of tickets reportedly sold out in minutes — and now the secondary market prices to see the action in person are astonishing.
Tickets to Sunday’s showdown at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia were selling for $2,468 on average early in the week — making it the most expensive conference championship ticket ever tracked by industry search engine TicketIQ, per Yahoo Sports.
The clash specifically is sparking huge sales for secondary ticket marketplace StubHub, according to data provided to Front Office Sports from the company.
- Ticket sales for the NFC Championship Game are currently double those of the counterpart matchup in the AFC between the Cincinnati Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs.
- Overall sales are currently on par with last year’s NFC title game between the Niners and Los Angeles Rams — which was the best-selling NFL game of 2022 outside of the Super Bowl.
- Sales for this year’s Divisional Round doubled last year’s — with the 49ers’ and Eagles’ home games serving as the two best-selling of the bunch.
StubHub chalks up much of the frenzy to the diehard Philadelphia sports fans and their teams’ recent success.
“Philadelphia fans are having a banner year across sports teams and are fueling ticket sales — their 2018 Super Bowl against the Patriots was the highest-selling Super Bowl of the last 10 years on StubHub,” StubHub spokesperson Adam Budelli told FOS in a statement.
As of Thursday morning, more than 4,000 tickets remained for Sunday’s game — with the get-in price for an upper deck ticket set at $630 before fees.
