It’s docked in the water and it floats around the River Thames. No, not a boat — we’re talking about a basketball court.
The NBA and Hennessy have been unveiling first-of-their-kind basketball courts at iconic global locations as part of the “Courts Beyond Limits” series. This time they’re making rounds in London.
The floating court traveled along the river from Woolwich to The Houses of Parliament for three days this past weekend.
First, the court hosted an opening ceremony featuring London-based rapper AJ Tracey honoring the connection between basketball and hip hop.
Then on Friday, it hosted an influencer tournament called “London’s Got Game” — featuring GRM Daily, Link Up TV, Bone Soda, Complex, and more.
On Saturday, they actually hosted an event where people were able to perform and/or play on the court.
The NBA and Hennessy continue their global branding after previous stops in Montreal, Johannesburg, Barbados, and Hong Kong. Let’s just hope nobody air-balls a shot — or gets seasick.
