ESPN’s splurge on top-tier sports media personalities continues, with NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski and NFL insider Adam Schefter being the latest to re-sign with the network.
On Tuesday, the New York Post reported that Schefter ($9M) and Woj ($7M) both signed for a combined $80 million over the next five years.
The $2 million difference is partially due Schefter’s longer tenure at ESPN.
A few weeks back, ESPN bolstered its “Monday Night Football” broadcast, luring in Joe Buck and Troy Aikman from FOX Sports for a total of $165 million over five years.
The sports media giant has now spent just about $250 million on four sports media personalities.
ESPN has also spent more than $40 billion to retain media rights for the NFL and MLB, while adding others — namely the NHL this year and the SEC in 2024.
