Angel Reese is returning to Unrivaled on Feb. 20.
The 3-on-3 league’s reigning defensive player of the year signed a rest-of-season contract to rejoin Rose BC as the team attempts to defend its title. Rose has just three regular-season games remaining, and are fifth in league standings (5–6), with the top six teams clinching a playoff spot.
The news follows a three-team trade that sent Courtney Williams to Breeze BC from Vinyl BC, Saniya Rivers to Vinyl from Hive BC, and Azurá Stevens to Hive from Rose.
In January, Reese posted to X/Twitter sharing that she “kinda missed” Unrivaled.
Unrivaled felt Reese’s absence through the first five weeks. Its ratings on TNT and TruTV nosedived to start the season, but have slightly recovered in recent weeks. Two recent doubleheaders averaged more than 170,000 viewers, still well off the pace of last year’s 221,000 average but ahead of the opening weekend numbers.
Unrivaled is in the midst of its 1-on-1 tournament, which will conclude on Saturday. The league returns to regular season action on Feb. 17. The first round of the playoffs begins on Feb. 28, with the championship scheduled for Mar. 4. Laces BC and Phantom BC have already clinched two of the six playoff spots.
