On Monday, the Pittsburgh Steelers announced they’ve reached a new agreement for their stadium naming rights.
Heinz Field has held its namesake for 21 years. But starting in 2022, it will be re-dubbed Acrisure Stadium — after a local insurance company that has signed a 15-year deal with the team.
The Steelers did not release financial terms.
The agreement will give the Steelers an opportunity to “invest in stadium amenities and aesthetics, including new stadium identification for the 2022 season” as well as “community initiatives,” according to a statement.
“Acrisure provided us with an opportunity to ensure our stadium continues to be a valuable asset for our fans as well as keeping up with the market value of NFL stadiums,” Steelers president Art Rooney II said in a statement.
In eight years, Acrisure ballooned from a company posting $38 million to a multi-billion dollar brand, and is rated in the top 10 for global insurance brokers.
