English Premier League club Newcastle United has reached a $31 million-per-year front-of-shirt sponsorship deal with a company from the Middle East, according to The Times.
The Times did not name the company that will sponsor Newcastle United, but it is reportedly not a company from Saudi Arabia. The Kingdom’s Public Investment Fund purchased Newcastle United for around $400 million in 2021.
Newcastle United recently ended its deal with sports betting company Fun88, the team’s incumbent front-of-shirt sponsor. That deal was reportedly worth less than $10 million annually, meaning the club’s new reported sponsor will pay Newcastle roughly three-time as much as its previous shirt sponsor.
Starting after the 2025-26 Premier League season, all gambling companies are banned from sponsoring the front shirts of EPL clubs as part of the league’s effort to limit gambling advertising in the U.K.
Newcastle United’s reported new $31M per-year shirt sponsorship is worth less than Liverpool FC’s $59 million annual front-of-shirt sponsorship with the British bank Standard Chartered.
