Under Armour announced plans for a global headquarters on its South Baltimore Port Covington campus, touting the future structure as “one of the region’s most environmentally sensitive and sustainable buildings.”

The eco-friendly, 280,000-square-foot building will house 1,500 corporate employees and feature a ground-floor flagship store, a track and field facility, a multi-sport playing field, and a basketball court.

Those sports facilities will serve primarily as testing grounds for Under Armour’s product development.

The location, currently known as Teammate Building 2 (TMB2), will be constructed using mass timber geothermal and water-reduction technology, with the goal to achieve a net-zero operation.

“TMB2 represents Under Armour’s commitment to providing our teammates with an innovative, collaborative, and flexible work environment that supports our hybrid work philosophy,” Under Armour President and CEO Patrik Frisk said in a statement.

“Consistent with one of our values to ‘Act Sustainably,’ TMB2 speaks to our focus on performance, consumers, the planet, and the community we call home.”

Under Armour expects the campus to be fully occupied by 2025.
