Front Office Sports Appoints Daniel Roberts As Editor-in-Chief

Roberts will lead the newsroom and drive the cross-platform editorial strategy

NEW YORK – Front Office Sports (FOS), the leading multi-platform media and news organization covering the business of sports, today announced Daniel Roberts as its new Editor-in-Chief. Roberts is a seasoned sports business journalist who will be responsible for managing the newsroom and spearheading the publication’s editorial strategies as it expands its content, events programming and more. 

“Dan is a proven leader in the digital media industry – he has led digital-first newsrooms, launched premiere live event programming, and hosted numerous live shows – and we are thrilled to have him join our team,” said Adam White, CEO and Founder of Front Office Sports. “There is no question that the business of sports is a mainstream topic now and I’m confident Dan will be able to lead our newsroom into its next era as we continue to advance our leadership in this space through a variety of new on and off platform content-led initiatives.”

With 15 years in journalism, Roberts brings a deep level of experience in reporting, editing, hosting, content strategy, and digital newsroom leadership. He previously served as Editor-in-Chief at Variant, an early-stage venture fund known for its writing. Prior to Variant, Roberts was Editor-in-Chief of crypto news site Decrypt. Before that, he spent years covering sports business at Yahoo Finance and Fortune. His writing has also appeared at Sports Illustrated, Washington Post, Time, Vice, The Paris Review, Air Mail and more. He will report to Adam White.

FOS has made several new key editorial hires this summer, including Editorial Director of Newsletters Or Moyal, formerly of Fox Sports and The Athletic; Editorial Director of Features Meredith Turits, formerly of BBC.com and Bustle; Reporter Colin Salao, formerly of The Street; and Social Video Hosts Derryl Barnes and Lindsay Zienty. Additionally, FOS recently announced its foray into live events with its Tuned In Summit, a daylong conference that will feature intimate discussions with the executives and talent who are instrumental in shaping the future of how fans view sports. This expansion follows a trend for the company as FOS has grown its audience by 50% and revenue by 85% year over year.
