Front Office Sports Studios Announces Netflix Documentary on Olympic Snowboarder Scotty James

Directed by Emmy Award–winning filmmaker Pat Dimon, the documentary follows the four-time Olympic snowboarder and his family with never-before-seen home videos spanning his childhood through his historic rise, leading up to the Milano Cortina Winter Olympic Games.

NEW YORK — Front Office Sports Studios today announced the upcoming documentary Scotty James: Pipe Dream, chronicling the life and legendary career of Olympian, seven-time X Games gold medalist, and four-time World Champion Scotty James. The film will premiere exclusively on Netflix on Dec. 19 and is directed by Emmy Award–winning filmmaker Pat Dimon.

The documentary features two decades of never-before-seen home videos, competition highlights, and candid interviews with James and those closest to him. The film intimately captures the defining moments of James’s life from his earliest days as a snowboarding prodigy, to his Olympic debut at age 15, to his current quest for Olympic gold at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Games.

“To have twenty years of my life and career captured into one film is pretty special,” James said. “I’m excited for people to get a real glimpse into my world—the highs and lows, the hard work, and the heart behind it all. I’m proud to share the story that led me to this moment and the drive that keeps me pushing forward.”

The film also includes exclusive interviews with those who have shaped and witnessed James’s evolution. From his wife, Chloe Stroll; to brother-in-law and Formula One driver Lance Stroll; and snowboarding icons Shaun White, Chloe Kim, and Torah Bright; each interviewee brings unique insight to James’s journey and impact on the sport.

Beyond the halfpipe, the documentary offers a rare and personal look at James’s world with his wife, their newborn son, Leo, and the rest of their adventurous, world-traveling family.

“Scotty has had and continues to have an amazing snowboard career,” Dimon said. “Being a huge ski and snowboard fan myself, I was immediately drawn to this project and the timing couldn’t have been more perfect as his life on and off the pipe are reaching new heights. We were lucky enough to capture it all to tell part of his incredible story from Australian prodigy to international icon.”

The documentary is executive produced by Dimon (100 Days to IndyFull Swing, Rebound), Morgan Hertzan, Dan DiStefano, Samantha Schofield, and Adam Marinelli in association with 11Oakland (Sean James, Tim James, and Scotty James). Scotty James: Pipe Dream will premiere exclusively on Dec. 19, ahead of James’s highly anticipated return to the 2026 Winter X Games and Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Games.
