Up:

Nike (NYSE: NKE) gained 7.95%. The company reported that it generated $10.59 billion of revenue in its 2021 fiscal year first quarter yesterday, surpassing Wall Street analyst expectations of $9.15 billion.

Under Armour (NYSE: UA) gained 6.3%.

Planet Fitness (NYSE: PLNT) gained 2.46%.

Down:

Town Sports International Holdings (NYSE: CLUB) dropped 17.85%. After filing for bankruptcy earlier this month, the parent company of New York Sports Clubs and Christi’s Fitness gyms took another hit when it was revealed that a security lapse exposed customer data.

Vista Outdoor (NYSE: VSTO) dropped 10.83%.

Scientific Games Corp (NASDAQ: SGMS) dropped 9.83%

News and Notes

  • The NFL Players Association’s medical and legal team have been in touch with LA Chargers quarterback Tyrod Taylor, who reportedly had his lung punctured accidentally by a team doctor while administering a pain killer on Sunday.
  • Tokyo Olympics officials have asked the Japanese government to relax immigration regulations to allow international athletes entry into the country ahead of the 2021 Games and train during a quarantine period.
  • American sports investment company ALK Capital LLC is in talks to purchase Premier League club Burnley. The move is the latest sign of interest in European soccer from North American ownership groups.
  • The University of South Florida is halting football activities as it awaits test results for possible coronavirus spread among players after playing Notre Dame. Notre Dame’s game at Wake Forest on Saturday has been postponed after seven players tested positive for COVID-19.
