Since 2012, more than 7,000 athletes have used opendorse to approve and publish content from partners to their personal social channels with the click of a button. These partners include organizations like the PGA TOUR, LPGA, NFLPA, dozens of professional teams and 50-plus college athletics programs.

The organization has received and reviewed feedback from their partners over the last several years to build a platform tailored to their current needs with the agility to add desired features for the future. With all that feedback in mind, opendorse recently announced their biggest update yet.

“We rebuilt opendorse to provide the simplicity athletes need to succeed, with the infrastructure and speed partners expect,” said Blake Lawrence, opendorse CEO.

“For 6-plus years, we’ve worked alongside the most innovative organizations in sports and studied every facet of athlete-driven social media. We worked hand-in-hand with our partners to understand what they need to maximize player-driven publishing. The result is an agile platform built to integrate with every tool in the marketer’s kit —designed to sit at the center of athlete marketing for years to come.”

What’s Different?

The new version of opendorse was built with an emphasis on speed to scale, accommodating the rapid pace of change in the social media and sports industry.

“This foundation allows opendorse to be great today and dynamic into the future,” said Abbie Giffin, opendorse Head of Product. “New features and integrations are coming fast, ensuring athletes and our partners always have the best solution available.”

opendorse now allows users to compose social media posts with multiple pieces of media. Users can include up to four photos for posts (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) and one video for Facebook and Twitter posts. They can also now batch upload media to their media library to speed up their workflows.

The process of distributing content is also sped up by the feature that allows users to compose content for unlimited athletes and social channels at once.

Creators sending the content can also add notes to a piece of content in a 280 character text box. 

Finally, opendorse has vastly increased the content sorting and filtering capabilities of the platform. Users can now search and filter their content by channel type, media type, action, status, publish date, engagement metrics, and more. 

“The new version of opendorse’s software is a real game-changer for us,” says Eric DeSalvo, Assistant AD for #Content at UCF. “It will allow us to get more #content into the hands of our student-athletes, coaches, and staff in a more timely manner.  We’ve already had discussions on gameday roles for the upcoming season and will look to have someone staffed on and pushing out #content that will have the most impact once the clock hits 0:00.”

DeSalvo’s positive sentiment is being echoed by many of opendorse’s other partners.

Analytics are easier to access and digest, allowing us to immediately see the success of campaigns and individual content distributed.”

With the latest update, opendorse continues to drive the future of athlete-driven content by helping athletes and organizations build their brands together. In the opinion of many of their partners, it has also made that process easier and faster than ever.
