NFL live streaming has arrived in sportsbook apps.

On Tuesday, sports data and technology company Genius Sports launched BetVision. This first-of-its-kind live streaming service will allow users to bet while watching games via integrated bet slips. The platform will also feature statistical insights and other real-time augmentations directly over the video player.

Caesars Sportsbook and Fanatics Sportsbook will be the first betting operators to be live with the product, streaming nationally distributed and local, regionalized live NFL games each week. BetRivers Sportsbook — which has previously experimented with live streaming in its app with lower profile sports — will go live with BetVision later.

“Sports fans and bettors alike increasingly demand personalized interaction, greater customization and deeper insights combined with an ability to strike a bet seamlessly,” said Genius Sports CEO Mark Locke. “BetVision alone offers precisely that, while giving sportsbooks a new way to drive engagement and accelerate the growth of in-game betting.”

The product advertises “low latency live game video streams,” which, in theory, would give prospective live bettors an edge. BetVision will reportedly offer a lag time between game action and the stream of just three to seven seconds — a big improvement over live TV broadcast lag time of seven seconds and up to a minute on other live streams, per Action Network.

To watch the streams, users must be located in a legal betting state and registered with the sportsbooks. At Fanatics, bettors must place a minimum bet of 10 cents on the game they want to watch, while Caesars’ users will only need to have placed an NFL wager on the platform in the last year.
