Polymarket is paying LeBron James $15 million a year to endorse the prediction-market platform, sources told Front Office Sports. The figure, which is far more than his annual salary from the 76ers, covers deliverables such as social media posts and commercials.

LeBron James will make more money from his Polymarket partnership than from playing for the 76ers, Front Office Sports has learned.

The prediction-market platform is paying James $15 million a year under the recently announced partnership, sources tell FOS. James is not an investor in Polymarket, just an endorser, one source says. The length of his agreement with Polymarket was not clear, although one source says it’s an “ongoing engagement” with multiple “deliverables,” such as social media posts and other content. Under the deal, James will focus on promoting football, not basketball.

Derek Jeter and Eli Manning, who also appeared in the Polymarket commercial first teased by James, are being paid under “smaller” endorsement deals than James’s, one source says. The commercial featured a slew of other athletes and celebrities, including Spike Lee, Reggie Bush, and Alexandra Daddario; some of the celebrities were paid just for that one commercial, rather than for longer-term endorsement deals, the source says. Other than James, Jeter, and Manning, it wasn’t clear who has long-term agreements in place versus who received a one-time payment to appear in the ad.

A spokesperson for Polymarket declined to comment, and a rep for James did not immediately respond to FOS.

In July, James signed a two-year, $8 million contract with the 76ers. He’s expected to earn a little under $4 million from the NBA team during the 2026–27 season—less than one-third of what Polymarket is paying him annually.

Prediction-market platforms have been jockeying for attention and customers amid the start of the football season. Kalshi recently released an ad featuring former NFL running back Marshawn Lynch and counts athletes such as NBA superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo as investors. Sports-focused platform Novig made waves last week with a racy commercial featuring actress Sydney Sweeney nude, using basketballs and footballs to cover herself. (“Sports.”)

Both Polymarket and Kalshi are official partners of the NHL, while Polymarket is MLB’s exclusive prediction-market partner and Kalshi is an “authorized prediction market” under MLB’s integrity framework, which has allowed it to do a number of team-level deals. The NBA and NFL have yet to embrace prediction markets. Sources tell FOS the former is closing in on agreements, while the latter remains a staunch holdout.

The prediction-market industry, which is regulated at the federal level, has generated a lot of controversy and numerous lawsuits—including from attorneys general in New Jersey and Nevada and other states, as well as several Native American tribes—because of its similarity to traditional sports betting, which is regulated on a state-by-state basis. The issue of whether sports-event contracts must be regulated at the state or federal level is expected to eventually reach the Supreme Court.

Polymarket is backed by the parent of the New York Stock Exchange and 1789 Capital, Donald Trump Jr.’s investment firm, which recently plugged an additional $1 billion into the business.

Some Injuries Aren’t Visible

In sports, playing through pain is worn as a badge of honor. But when it comes to mental health, pushing through warning signs comes at a much higher cost. Suicide Prevention Month is a reminder that early support matters. Strength isn’t about ignoring struggle: It’s about recognizing it before it becomes dangerous.

The same principle applies beyond the field. Strong teams look out for their people, on and off the clock, and create environments where asking for help is part of the culture. As a national leader in suicide prevention, crisis care, and education, Sheppard Pratt is helping organizations better understand the signs to watch for—and how support saves lives. The Price of Winning

$1,252

That’s the get-in price for a ticket to the Knicks’ season opener on Oct. 20 against the 76ers, according to TicketData. Single-game tickets officially went on sale to the general public Wednesday after being offered to Knicks Fan First members on Monday and Tuesday. New York won its first NBA championship in 53 years last season, defeating the Spurs in five games. With most of the team returning (minus backup center Mitchell Robinson), the Knicks enter the 2026–27 season as co-favorites with Philadelphia to win the Eastern Conference. The Sixers had a busy offseason, trading for Jaylen Brown and signing LeBron James via free agency.

The current ticket price for the game, which will be ring night for the champs, is higher than any regular-season game last year and all but two playoff games: Games 3 and 4 of the NBA Finals, with get-in prices of $6,728 and $3,406, respectively. However, the asking price has dropped. After the NBA first announced the matchup in early August—but before the Knicks officially listed tickets—seats were going as high as $2,200 on SeatGeek.

“We all participated.”

—Former Duke guard Jay Williams discussing under-the-table payments to players before the NCAA allowed NIL money in college sports. Speaking at the Front Office Sports Asset Class event alongside former Nebraska defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh on Tuesday, the two-time All-American and current ESPN analyst responded to FOS editor-in-chief Dan Roberts’s point that name, image, and likeness existed before it was official. “Just in black duffel bags,” he said. “Sorry, we all participated. [Suh]’s going to claim that he didn’t.” To which Suh responded: “I never participated. I don’t know what y’all do at Duke, but don’t bring that over here to Nebraska, sir.”
