Only a few years ago, bars focused on only women’s sports were a curiosity. Now, they’ve exploded across the U.S., with more on the way. The surging popularity and expansion of women’s sports has fueled the sustainability and growth of these establishments—but there’s still a constant existential question to balance with their big ambitions.

The NWSL playoff picture is coming down to the wire. The Kansas City Current are undefeated at home in 29 straight regular-season matches, and as they hold on to the last playoff spot, they’ll need every point they can get. The Denver Summit roll into Kansas City this weekend undefeated in their last five. Colorado natives Janine Sonis and Lindsey Heaps have goal contributions in three straight games, giving the expansion team a shot at the postseason. Will it be the home field advantage or Denver’s hometown heroes who make the difference? Tune in at 12:30 p.m. ET on Saturday on CBS or Paramount+ to find out.

Oklahoma entered the 2026 campaign with high expectations, but the Sooners’ season has quickly turned on its head. And depending on the results of the next few weeks, Oklahoma’s quest to return to the College Football Playoff could be replaced with a fight for bowl eligibility.
The Sooners were favored by more than three touchdowns last week against New Mexico but only beat the Lobos 14–6. The week before, they were upset by Michigan in a surprising 17–10 result, one week after the Wolverines’ controversial win over Western Michigan. Oklahoma opened the season ranked 10th in the AP Top 25, but has fallen in the polls in subsequent weeks: No. 11 after Week 1, No. 24 after Week 2, and unranked in this week’s poll.
These developments, paired with the Sooners’ upcoming schedule, have created an increased sense of urgency. The next two games are against the two highest-ranked teams in the country, with a bye week sandwiched between matchups against No. 2 Georgia on Saturday and No. 1 Texas in the annual Red River Rivalry.
